At Meraki Hair Loss Clinic, we only provide our customers with custom, human hair wigs. This is because we want you to look your best with a wig that looks, feels and sits as well as your natural hair does.
When you come in for your consultation, we will help you through the following decisions as you begin your journey to your new look:
The style and cut. We recommend that you begin by deciding what type of cut you would prefer your wig to have. For first time wearers, we often recommend that you consider a cut style that is or is close to the same style of your natural hair.
This doesn’t mean that you should be afraid to experiment. We often find that some styles work well with certain face shapes, so if you feel that you should go a different route with your new look, we will be happy to oblige you.
Whatever your choice is, remember that wearing a wig for the first time is a new experience, and that you can always change and adapt your look as you gain more experience in wearing one.
Choosing a colour. Some of our clients often feel that getting their first wig is a great opportunity to try a new hair colour, and we agree, and are excited to help them look great no matter their choice. Even so, we have some guidelines to ensure that your choice adds to your natural beauty, and doesn’t subtract from it.
This means we take care to match your skin tone and facial features, like your eyebrows, with a colour as close to your choice as possible.
If you are a first-time wig wearer, we often recommend staying close to your natural colour, even if that means including a few of those grey hairs. If you’re feeling more adventurous, we are more than happy to help you find a different shade altogether.
Your wig’s composition: Human Hair Wigs vs Synthetic – which is better?
We not only offer 100% human hair wigs, but also synthetic hair wigs or a mix of both, according to your needs.
There are advantages and disadvantages to either which you should consider before you decide which type of hair you want in your wig.
Both types of hair will look and feel very natural. However, human hair offers you more styling versatility, as hot tools cannot be used with synthetic hair.
Synthetic hair, on the other hand, can be worn immediately, and tends to be more affordable, but you should consider that you will only be able to wear it for approximately six months before needing a new wig.
Human hair requires more care and styling after it’s been washed, but can be worn for a year or more before needing replacing. Human hair wigs also look and feel more natural than their synthetic counterparts. Getting the Right Fit
The cap is one of the most frequently overlooked, though important features of your new wig, as it has an important part to play in whether your wig will look and perform naturally.
